Bergara, 1966

He studied Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country specializing in painting and sculpture.

He has held solo exhibitions in Sala Rekalde, Bilbao (Ni ez nain hemengoa in 2004), CAB. Centro de Arte Caja de Burgos (Baga biga higa en 2007) or Koldo Mitxelena Culture Centre in San Sebastian (Behar Gori Primavera Azul en 2008) and in prominent collective exhibitions such as the Muestra de Arte Joven (Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo, Madrid 1994), Pintura Mutante (MARCO. Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Vigo 2006) or Planes futuros (Baluarte, Pamplona 2007).

He has participated in renowned international fairs such as ARCO (in the 2006 edition with one of the Sixteen Spanish Art Projects curated by María de Corral), FRIEZE ART FAIR, ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH (in the 2004 edition with the individual project Orain, Berriz, Gulliver in the Art Positions section), CIGE and China International Gallery Exhibition (in 2008 with the individual project El Bosque de Ozú / Ozú’s Forest).

He was awarded, amongst other prizes, the First Generation 2000 Award from Caja Madrid, the Gure Artea Award from the Basque Government in 2000, the Endesa Scholarship in 2001 and the Altadis Scholarship in 2005. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections, among which we highlight: Museo ARTIUM, Vitoria, Colec- ción Unión Fenosa de La Coruña, Colección Arte Contemporáneo Museo Patio Herreriano of Valladolid, Colección CAM, Valencia, Colección Altadis, Colección Caja Madrid, Colección Kutxa, Colección of the Junta de Extremadura, Colección de la Comunidad Autónoma de Murcia, Museo de Bellas Artes de Álava, Colección Banco de España, Colección L’Oreal, Fundación Coca-Cola Spain or the town councils of Pamplona and Vitoria.
